Wolf Rock - Sharp\'s Brewery - (ABV 4.8%)

Out of Stock

Taking its name from Wolf Rock off the coast of Land's End, this Red IPA is almost deep ruby in colour, with a resinous herby hop and ripe summer fruit aroma. A bittersweet yet fruity flavour leads to a balanced sweet malt and crisp malt finish. A stunning choice of beer to have with a ploughman's lunch, charcuterie board or smoked salmon dish.

  • Volume: 500ml
  • ABV: 4.8%
  • Bottle made from recyclable glass
  • Contains barley and malted barley

Armin Says...

Our expert Armin provides his view...

"Wolf Rock is claimed by the brewery to be a Red IPA but this is a contradiction in terms, a misnomer, a red herring perhaps. IPA, by nature and by history, is strong, pale and hop dominant. ‘Wolf’ is none of these things however it is utterly stunning – malt and hop, sweet and bitter, fruit and more fruit blend beautifully together. Burnished ruby red in appearance it is more typical of an autumnal ale. Something to be enjoyed by the fireside on a cold night.

"It is a relative newcomer to the industry, only being introduced in 2015, but boy, did the brewer strike gold with this recipe! Sharp’s are best known for Doom Bar, but this is the jewel in their crown. It is a brazen, spoiled brat, a flawed genius, but an absolute triumph. A brash, cheeky, yet unassuming winner – this is the Balotelli of the beer world!"
