Blue Anchor's most popular beer. Spingo Middle is a traditional Cornish sweet strong bitter with an unforgettable flavour.

Originally brewed in celebration of the return of local soldiers from World War I, it is now one of Cornwall's most sought after beers.

"Either a visit to the Duchy or perhaps a celebration of all things Cornwall would not be complete without an encounter with one of the county’s oldest residents – ‘Middle’ made it’s debut at the end of the First World War. Legendary in some quarters and mystical in others, ‘Middle’ is an enigma, as it is neither middling in strength, flavour, or strangely, consistency.

"It is strong, and sweet for a bitter. Brew to brew it can vary slightly in character but these variances only enhance the experience, boldly warming with caramel and sweet malt the dominant flavours, this stunning, if not unusual, but certainly traditional, bitter will sneak up on you if not handled carefully. The first beer demands a second, and so on.

have not tried this one yet but i am sure it will be the same quality as other blue anchor beers

How long will it take to process my order?

All orders are processed and sent to our courier first thing in the morning. Please bear this in mind when using our expedited shipping service.

How quickly will my order arrive?

Our aim is to dispatch all orders placed next day. Any orders placed after that time will be dispatched on the next available working day.

We will send you a notification email when your order has been dispatched. 

While we always try our best to dispatch every order following the above guidelines, during extremely busy periods dispatch times may increase by up to one day.

What days will my order be delivered on?

Our couriers deliver between 07.00 and 18.00 Monday to Friday.

Will I need to sign for my order?

Yes, you will need to sign for your order.

If goods are returned to us by our couriers following unsuccessful attempts to deliver, and where delivery instructions have been met, refunds will not be given. In these circumstances the customer may request for the goods to be re-sent. This will incur the relevant area delivery charge and will not cover any spoilt perishable goods. Please note parcels containing alcohol cannot be left without a signature.

How carefully is my order packaged?

We take great care in packaging your order using the necessary materials according to its weight, size and how fragile it is.


You may cancel your order up to 48 hours prior to the dispatch date. This will incur a small administration charge. If you are not happy with your hamper please contact us to arrange return within 24 hours. The full value of the hamper/box will then be refunded on receipt of undamaged and/or in date goods excluding postage.

If goods are returned to us via the courier following unsuccessful attempts at delivery and where any delivery instructions have been met no refund will be made. In these circumstances the customer may request that the goods be resent. This would incur the standard delivery charge and would not cover any spoilt perishable goods. CBBAC will not make any administration charge for dealing with these cases.

We recommend that you send your order back to us using a tracked delivery service as we cannot be held responsible for any parcel lost during transit to us.

Once your item has been returned, we will inspect it and take the necessary action as soon as possible.

Faulty/Damaged Goods

If any item you receive from us arrives damaged, please contact us as soon as possible on 07881 557112 / 01579 321496 or by email info@cbbac.co.uk.  We will then advise you on the best course of action. 

In most cases we will ask you to return the item to us for an exchange or refund. Unfortunately we cannot refund your postage costs when you return an item to us unless the item is faulty.

Please do not return a damaged order to us without contacting us first.
